BANGLADESH Garments Sramik Sanghati leaders on Saturday demanded immediate payment of festival allowance to workers and reopening of all the apparel factories of the Tuba Group.
From an hour-long hour human chain formed in front of the National Press Club, the Sanghati leaders pressed the demands.
Sangahi coordinator Taslima Akhter demanded immediate reopening of all the  five factories of Tuba Group.
She also called for cancelling the bail of Delwar Hossain, the owner of the Tuba Group and Tazreen Fashion Limited.
Delwer was responsible for killing of 124 workers of Tazreen Fashion at Nischintapur in Savar in 2012, she said.
After 11 days’ hunger strike by Tuba Group workers they were paid partial arrear wages but not the Eid festival bonus, Taslima said.
Sanghati leader Dipak Roy condemned the police attacks on Tuba Group workers during their hunger strike demanding payment of arrear wages and overtime bills as well as the festival bonus.
Chaired by Taslima Akhter, the human chain rally was addressed by Sanghati  leaders Abu Shama, Mahbub Emran and Tuba Group workers Khadeza Begum and Ashraful Islam.
